I think we can all agree social media has become a job for many and a job is rarely associated with fun but rather a necessary part of life. There are things about social media I enjoy, capturing moments and writing as a form of expression. Rather than worry about SEO or engagement or making money from links, I want create a space here that honors where many of us started. A journal of sorts. A lot has changed for us in the last year, including moving to a new state, a new home, new job and schools, new travels while still appreciating so much that hasn’t changed. More on that below….
I wanted to give a little peek at what we’ve been up to. I appreciate capturing small moments at home. Eventually I will share wide angles but for now, here’s a quick shots.
We’ve had a photo bowl on the coffee table for years. It’s a conversation starter when new friends are over and it’s a place to rummage through and remember where we’ve been. I am probably the last person to have an Instamax and though it’s probably still a hot gift for the pre-teens, this middle aged woman was thrilled to receive it this Christmas. We added a few new photos to the bowl and knowing the camera is always close by, look forward to the snaps that have yet to be taken. The beauty of old school, there are no do overs.
We loved the season we were in and all we did to our last home but with this home, we fell in love from the moment we walked through the doors. One of my favorite rooms in the house is our bedroom. It’s like sleeping in a cream colored marshmallow. Homes have energy and this one welcomed us with open arms. It was such a vibe.
Making a house a home is a process, one that takes time and requires compromise. Your home will tell you what it needs and you likely have an idea of what you need from it. I’ll share many more moments at home but for now,
